4 dates set aside for educators at mass vaccination sites in Massachusetts

Massachusetts officials are designating four upcoming weekend days for administering COVID-19 vaccines to teachers, school staff and child care workers at the state’s seven mass vaccination sites. Those dates will be Saturday, March 27, Saturday, April 3, Saturday, April 10, and Sunday, April 11. Up to 25,000 first-dose appointments will be available across those dates, health officials said. Individuals who are eligible for these appointments will be required to use the new pre-registration system, which is set to launch Friday morning.Officials said that the new system will ask residents to supply their contact information and attest to the various factors considered for eligibility, including age, medical conditions and occupation. Individuals will then be added to a queue and will be contacted with a unique sign-up invitation when it is their turn.At launch, that new system will only power the appointments for the seven mass vaccination sites, but other clinics may be added in April. Regional health collaboratives are also being encouraged to adopt the designated dates for educators.
