Here’s how to get a free Six Flags ticket for getting the COVID-19 vaccine in California

I’m honored to be here because we want to highlight and celebrate. Not only the reopening of the California economy, which we formally announced yesterday as we move beyond the blueprint to celebrate and congratulate 40 million Californians for. They’re extraordinary work over the last 15 months to get us to where we are, allowed us to get beyond the blueprint. That allows us to lay claim to having one of the lowest positivity rates in the United States of America, one of the lowest case rates in the United States of America, and one of the highest vaccination rates in the United States of America, and also lay claim to this status. And this is why we’re here in the spirit of renewal and rebirth uh and reinvigoration uh to lay claim to be the tent pole of the american economy in terms of job creation in the last three months. No other state in this country is outperforming the state of California in terms of job growth And job creation. Just to put that in perspective, 38% of America’s jobs came out of the state of California last month, 41% of America’s jobs came out of the state of California february. We talk about California not coming back, we talk about it rightly as roaring back. It’s because of all of your hard work, your faith with emotion. Uh not only to yourselves, your family, but more broadly, the community in the state in this nation uh that we are trying to rebuild from this very challenging pandemic. I want to acknowledge as well, all of the hard work that has been done by all the members of your team. I know that six flags had a special connection to your workforce and I want to just honor that and congratulate you for not given up on your workers, not turning your back during the depths of this pandemic. having their backs. And as a consequence, you’re coming back much stronger than others. You’re not having the challenges many other employers are having because you were there for your employees. And so I’m here in that spirit with a sense of pride, but also recognition. Uh, we took a sledgehammer to the entertainment industry in the last year because they stay at home order. No one’s naive. We talk about California roaring back. There was one sector of our economy That was particularly impacted by this pandemic, and that was hospitality restaurants and entertainment. When you look at that 41% of job creation in February, you’ll see the disproportionate number of those jobs were in the entertainment sector, we’re in the hospitality sector, were in the restaurant sector. And this is a sector. We need to pay particular attention, we need here to promote, we need to be here, not just The cameras are here, uh, but long after to get this sector of our economy back on its feet. Uh, we are prideful in California. Not only do we feed the world, but we also entertained the world. We’re working with visit California. We put out a $95 million dollar investment, $100 million investment to start advertising for domestic tourism. We want folks to come back and discover or rediscover their own state role in their own backyard. They may have driven by this park for many, many years and never turn in that exit and took the time to get into the kitchen. So we’re encouraging that all across the spectrum because the end of the day, there’s no state in America. They can lay claim to more entertainment opportunities. They claim to more spectacular vistas. Parks from the oldest living things on planet earth, the sequoias to the post lines, to the high deserts, to the low deserts. There is no other state, like the state of California. So we are roaring back. But we need to be mindful of the fact that not everybody feels fully engaged in participatory in that recovery. So we’re here to remind people that there’s work still to be done. We’re here to remind people that are vaccination efforts. While they are among the highest in the nation, 72 plus percent of adults have received at least one adult once dose of the vaccine, which by the way, Is a full month before the violin administrations, July four stated goal. But we recognize a lot of people haven’t gotten vaccinated And we need to do more to encourage it. Yesterday we added out $15 million. $15 million dollars in a raffle will be contacting folks today. I got a few of the names this morning, uh, will be making those phone calls. It maybe one of you. Uh, I guess that phone call getting a million half dollars in prizes. And it turns out these incentives have worked. California lays claim to be one of the few states that’s actually seen a week over week increase in vaccination dose is 1.13 million people uh received at least the dose of vaccine over the last seven days. 219,000 yesterday. In the last reporting period, that’s roughly 22% increase week over week. In terms of vaccination rate, which is remarkable when you consider 72 plus percent of adults have already received one vaccine. But we cannot put down our guard not spiking the ball. It’s not mission accomplished. And that’s why we’re here today. Uh, thankful and mike And this remarkable team here providing 50,000 free tickets equivalent of value of over $4.5 million free tickets. But seemingly the staff so enthusiastic about but not the press press needs to be enthusiastic about this as well. 50,003 tickets at 65 locations you get a single dose of vaccine, One of these 65 locations in 13 different counties working in partnership with 14 different organizations. Uh, you will get a free ticket. You cannot sell that ticket. It is not transferable. I needed to say that lawyers wanted me to. The bottom line is that we are encouraging to get vaccines beyond yesterday’s announcement. We are mindful of the work that still needs to be done. And so just thank you. Six flags. That’s good and conquer. That’s good in Malaysia. That’s good in L. A. And that’s good. Right here at the flagship 50,000 tickets by the way. In addition to that, you didn’t get $50. We used about 924,000 of those gift cards of the two million that we set aside. So your family of four, you get a couple $100 you got three tickets to six flags. In addition to a couple $100 you may get a phone call it a, if another member of the family had already gotten vaccinated and these rappels, you can go to Taco Bell, get one of those addictive dorito tacos for free. You go to triple to you get one of those peso Blanco’s for free. You can go down if you’re a, you know, some of you may be fans, some of you may be warrior fans. I’m California governor. So I’m gonna go in north and south, You get discounts on merchandise. All of those continue beyond yesterday. I guess that’s the long winded point. I really want to make more indelible. We are not running through this tape and rested, we have work to do to fully reopen this economy to get everybody to feel fully engaged with participatory. We recognize that equity continues to be our north star. We have stubborn work to do to make sure that these vaccines are available on a more equitable manner to latino commune and the african american community and that everybody is back on their feet. Mindful and in this economy that folks are scared to death about their rent checks or their ability to pay their rent. They don’t have the ability to pay it. And we’re working with the Legislature and we’re looking forward to making some announcements in that space to extend that moratorium Rent to do more, to help small businesses $4 million dollars in small business grants in the state and to make sure we’re wise and thoughtful about using your $80 billion dollars surplus. And I’ll repeat that. Not only is the United States enjoying the success coming out of California in terms of job creation, but this state Is generating just shy of $80 billion American history, which allows us to also support the largest tax rebate of any state in American history. Two thirds of all of you will receive a tax rebate in the mail or in your account, 612 $100 over the course of the next number of weeks. Everybody that’s been impacted by this pandemic. They can’t pay their rent, we will pay 100% of your rent going back to april of last year, anybody that’s impacted by this pandemic, they can’t pay their rent and can’t afford their water bill or their utility bill, California will pay those bills 100% going back to april of last year and going forward to september of this year. I need to say that because no one believes that we’re here for all Californians that have struggled and suffered and we want to let you know that we didn’t just end those efforts yesterday. We’re continuing today tomorrow for weeks and months until everybody is striving in the state of California once more. So I wanted to thank Mike and his team for this rather significantly Announcement 50,003 Tickets. I want to thank all the workforce here for staying the course or be back so that we can once again have all these magical experiences, magical moments which is really part and parcel of the work that’s done here. Each and every day, California is coming roaring. Thank you very
