Police and EMS are responding to a shooting at a Lancaster mall, according to multiple reports.
LancasterOnline reports that city police confirmed officers were called to the Park City Center for a shooting.
Around 3:15 p.m. Lancaster City police said a “police incident” happened adding that mall would be closed until Monday. Police said there was no immediate threat or danger to the public.
Online dispatch records showed that multiple ambulances were called to the mall at 142 Park City Center at 2:26 p.m.
These ambulances were called for gunshot wounds and trampling injuries, LancasterOnline reports.
Social media videos of the shooting showed people running and screaming after two gunshots were fired inside the mall, as well as a heavy police presence, LancasterOnline reported.
The director of public relations and marketing for Brookfield Properties, the owner of the shopping mall, told Fox 43 in a statement, “We are saddened and angered by the unfortunate, isolated incident that happened in our shopping center today We are grateful for [the police’s] swift action to contain the situation. Our highest priority right now is the well being of our guests and tenants.”
