CLEVELAND (WJW) — Happy Valentine’s Day! It will be cloudy and cold. Wind chills in the teens with highs in the low 20s.

A winter storm warning has been issued for Northeast Ohio on Monday. It goes into effect at 1 a.m. and will continue until 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Two rounds of snow are expected with the first happening Monday morning and the second Monday night going into Tuesday. Some areas could get up to 12 inches.

You may want to give yourself extra time for the morning commute. Widespread snow develops after 4 a.m. This round will last through 11 a.m. and bring around 3″.
Here’s the forecast through lunch…

We get a break from the widespread snow in the afternoon. 2nd round develops after 5 p.m. with heavy snow at times possible, this will last through early Tuesday morning. An additional 4-8″ possible. STORM TOTAL BY NOON TUESDAY… 8-12″.

The coldest air is expected to arrive Tuesday. A couple of areas could have sub-zero lows Tuesday night. Otherwise, we’re locked into our cold spell all week. Next one to watch on Thursday. Another panhandle hook that will likely bring snow initially with a transition to a rain/ice/snow mix then back to snow. Stay tuned!
